Surprise Visit: Renowned food writer visits Allens Hill Farm
From the Honeoye Herald, April 5, 2006
Craig Goldwyn, renowned Chicago Tribune, Washington Post and AOL food columnist and chief judge for the finger Lakes
International wine Contest held in rochester last weekend, unexpectedly dropped by Allens Hill Farm on Tuesday. Recommended
by a mutual friend, Judy Immesoete of Canandaigua, Goldwyn sampled several products. He was impressed enough that he is
considering incorporating recipes using Allens Hill Farm's signature product- Apple Cider Molasses- into his new cookbook,
Amazing Ribs.
Goldwyn, who is also an instructor at the Flavour Cooking School, guest instructor at Cornell University and Le Cordon
Bleu, arranged for Allens Hill Farm to present their products to the judges at the Finger lakes International wine Festival
at the Crowne Plaza in Rochester on April 1, 2006.
"It was an unexpected honor for someone of Craig's caliber to take the time to come here and sample our food! He's really
knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor." Said John Loveland, owner of Allens Hill Farm, which is located on
Allens Hill Road.
